Is there a way you can extract an amount of characters from a VARCHAR?

I have a column which has always the same amount of numbers, and I want to extract from it the data in 4 parts (first 4 numbers, next 4 number, next 2 numbers and the last 20 numbers)

I remember that there was something with String and Length, but as I havn´t done SQL for lamost 5 years and help is welcome to push me in the right direction
