Hello everyone,I am designing an analysis product that imports about 0.5 GB rows from a text file into a database and then chews on this data to produce reports and graphs. Besides the client-server web-based piece, my customer has requested that I also create a stand-alone version of the product which would run on a person's laptop. Will MSDE be suitable for this purpose? I've read vague statements that said things like "MSDE is the equivalent of MS Access 2000" and "MSDE does not support full-fledged stored procedures", so I'm kinda sceptical..HELP PLEASE!!! |

well, MSDE does have limitations but they aren't the ones you mention. Here are the top ones i can think of:1. No graphical management tools (EM, QA, profiler, etc.)2. 2GB database file size limit3. 2GB RAM limit4. workload governorThere are other limitations too. Check the microsoft website on msde for more info.-ec |
