 DB size problem

I have a table with 900 columns from T1……T900 (float datatype). As float takes 8 bytes so row size should be

8 * 900 = 7200 bytes so each row is of 7200/1024 = 7.03125 kb

Each 8 kb page should have 8060/7.03125 = 1146.311 rows

And if there are 68463 rows, then there should be 68463/1146.311 = 59.72462 pages

But when I insert data into the table and run the dbcc showcontig command it shows there are 68463 pages scanned. It means there is one row per page. I want to know why is it so, and how can I overcome this problem. Because of this DB size is amazingly increasing. Please help me to solve this problem or correct me if I am wrong any where
