This query works fine in MS Access but does not work under ADO-VB 6

SELECT Item1, First(Item2) AS FirstOfItem2, Sum(Item3) AS SumOfItem3, Item4
FROM Table2
GROUP BY Item1, Item4;

So, this Item2 should be picked up first in grouping (or any of, in grouping )....

Is there any different grouping option in query in ADO-VB6 I can use instead of "First"?

What is first? It would be processing dependent so could vary from run to run.
use min or max.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
