| Hi, For new in SQL Server i have to import data in sql server from excel and from foxpro(DOS base version) at runtime from VB application. Can someone assist me in this, that how and where should i start to accomplish this task...SoftGuru |

| Hmm - does it have to be via the VB Application?I recommend you look at the Books On Line for the usage of DTS (data transformation services). BCP might also work for you, but it is more finicky (and faster typically).There are other ways , like OPENDATASOURCE, as well. | Duane,It has it uses, and to someone who is new to SQL, is a starting point. What was interesting from the Yukon presentation (not trying to rub your nose in that, really :-) ), was the enhancements to DTS - it has had a total re-write...anyways ... at the end of the day, a saying I've found true is Horse's for Course's ... I have even admitted before that Ms-Access (yuk) has it's place its the IT world (but don't quote me :-) )*##* *##* *##* *##* Chaos, Disorder and Panic ... my work is done here! |
