are there any limitations on the record enters per hour in the SQL server.

The only limitation is in the hardware.

If your hardware can cope, sql can cope

I believe those sort of limitations are based on your hardware and the size of the records in questions. Smaller rows (fewer columns, less bytes) will insert faster than larger rows. Also, the indexes you have on the table in question will slow down inserts.

Depending on the items above, you should be able to do upwards of 50-100 records/second. If you have small rows and fast hardware, you can do many many more than that.

The limitation purely base upon the no. of records, no. of fields in processing, table constraints and the hardware.
