anand writes "we have developed an intranet application to convert flowchart documents to PDF documents.

the user submits documents to the server. the network administrator inserts a position value for a particular document. for e.g. if there are 11 documents with position defined then the administrator enters 12, the document takes the 12th position accordingly.

if there are 11 documents with position defined and the aministrator and wants to insert the document in the 7th position, then the document in the 7th position has to move to the 8th position and the dcument in the 8th position to 9th and so on till the end if file.

i thought of a logic wherein for the above requirement of inserting it in the 7th position, the document in the 7th position moves to 99th position. the document to be inserted in the 7th psoition take its place and then the 99th position gets upadated to the 8th psoition. this should continue till end of file.

kindly dive me a nested query for updation. we are using ASP and COM objects with SQL Server 6.5 as database and WIN NT Verion 4 with SP4 and OP4."
