| UDF's are compiled in a similar way to SPs but they can cause row by row operations in queries so can make them very inefficient.The optimiser expects them to be deterministic and generates the query plan assuming that so any time you create a udf that isn't deterministic it can cause a query to return incorrect results.==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.DTS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |
