| This applies to SQL Server 2000: After a week of pulling my hair out, I finally figured out why I couldn't set breakpoints in Query Analyzer when I was trying to debug. The lesson I'm passing on to people here is that if you want to use a local account on the server for the MSSQLSERVER service to run under, and you want to debug from a remote machine, you'll have to add a local user on the remote computer with the same username and password of the service account. Can anybody tell me what the risks might be of using a domain account for the service account? I'm assuming the domain account needs special rights if it's going to be accessing files or whatever on the remote machines that are used for debugging... |
