| Well, my earlier post (http://sqlteam.com/Forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=23583) presaged a RAID meltdown, caused by a drive gone so bad that it created electrical problems for the whole RAID subsystem. Boom! We're back now and in the process of restoring (thank god for tx log backups!). However, we got another scare when it seemed that enterprise manager was crashing when we went to select the backup set to use. Patience prevailed, and after about 15 minutes, EM came back with the list.We use the backup maintenance plan thingy, and I'm wondering if there's some housekeeping I need to do related to that to purge MSDB old old backups or something -- we're doing TX backups once every 15 minutes, so that piles up quickly.Any advice? Thanks-b |
