As always your guys' input means a lot, you helped with various previous tools and it worked out great.A while back I posted regarding the best way to handle a time off tracker tool with calendar objects: http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=84490I went ahead and began development a couple of weeks ago.Can I get feedback on what looks silly / interface issues.Monthly view to log time off: Yearly view (users wanted to see the entire year and navigate through that, besides just monthly view): Logging the request: Views (dept): More... PS Graz / Admins: When I tried to create a new topic and I wasnt logged in I put my user name and password at the topic form. I completed the message and clicked "Post New Topic" but no luck it kept saying bad user name and password. Only until I logged into the site did this work ?Programmers HowTo's -- http://jhermiz.googlepages.com |

RE login - I get just the same. If I get here via a bookmark and I have cleared my cookies or something since my last visit I have to log in, close down the window and come back again. It's like you're tryin' to keep me out |

I have a suggestion about the Time off tracker which is a little of topic but may be of interest. One of the things I am expected to do as a manager is to monitor sick leave. If there is a suspicion of a problem, one of the tools that we use looks very similar to the yearly view screenshot you have. It would for example highlight something like - the person has two sick days every four weeks - or other patterns that may exist which aren't immediately obvious when you just look at a set of dates. So for example if sick leave was shown on your tracker (as well as planned leave/leave requests) in a different colour it would be clearer if there was a pattern to any of it - for example we once had someone who was off sick at particular time of the year (a day or two after particular festivals). This was clearer after using this toolsteve-----------Don't worry head. The computer will do all the thinking from now on. |

(First SS) The one thing about the new calendar controls I HATE are the arrows to change the month. Unless you use AJAX, it will post back EVERY STINKING TIME you click to change the month.(Third SS) This is how I try and get around it. Give them a text box to actually type in the date so they dont have to click back 9 months and be annoyed. (Since we cannot use AJAX here, yet) [Signature]For fast help, follow this link:http://weblogs.sqlteam.com/brettk/archive/2005/05/25.aspxLearn SQLhttp://www.sql-tutorial.net/ http://www.firstsql.com/tutor.htm http://www.w3schools.com/sql/default.asp |

elwoosmuchos gracias, good idea...DonAtWork,I hate that too, I avoided it in the yearly view, but the monthly view its still on there. I could easily create a drop down selecting month and year....but I think it might be too late now :-).JonProgrammers HowTo's -- http://jhermiz.googlepages.com |
