Some of you may remember me, but there is definately a new group of hot-shots around here that don't.I'm a big SQL Team fan, for very selfish reasons. I don't really care so much about helping young up-n-comers learn how to parse a CSV and what not. In fact, those guys are the ones that I compete against in the marketplace, why would I want to help them? Rather, I like reading/answering question as a way to broaded my own experience and learn new stuff. The reason for my SQL Team hiatus was I got into the mode where I would race to be the first to respond to every question and I would score extra points for myself if I could just link to some other post and point the person there. That got boring for me considering the above paragraph.I've come back to see that's how many of the threads go around here. Now, I'm not dissing by any means. You guys are helping lots of people. But if I stick around, I'm going to try to push things a bit futher so I can accomplish my goals. So I'm posting to say ... yeah, I'm a crack-head ... I have stupid ideas, take stupid positions on things sometimes and often don't have the aptitude to grasp certain concepts. With that in mind, I simply request that the new breed of smarties around here politely tell me to shove off if you don't like the direction I take some of my posts. I'll respect that and go away no prob.Jay White |

Yes, "stupid" position often ends up with a new way of thinking [for me when trying to understand the position] and another approach of solving things.Peter LarssonHelsingborg, Sweden |

I would simply post a link to where "Page47" had already been discussed, but that seems like a bad idea considering my post that started this thread :).It is hard to say exactly, but I'd suggest the introduction of Zombie people and the giant red ball of death was right around the moment that the shark was jumped.Jay White |

Actually I think we could do with a thread that recorded worth-posts, in case folk had missed them. The thread about using Trig for Great Circles when Pythagoras would get you within a couple of paving slabs for example.Kristen |

Nahhh, Madhi mostly slaps them in thier face with a '.. do it in the frontend ..' -- Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter." |
