| Some people here have been subject to a pay review. If it goes as they have been assessed we will have the following structure. Scale A (the highest paid of these two)Project manager (just completed a million pound project)Secretary1st line IT support/junior helpdeskScale B (up to £7,000 (corresponds to more than $10,000) less than scale A)Information Analyst/Junior programmerSenior Administrative type role (needs a degree)Junior dba/First and second line IT supportClerks/data inputSecretaries line manager!! who is also expected to line manage the clerksJust thought this might cheer you up on a tuesday steve-----------Oh, so they have internet on computers now! |

Seriously it's hard to be serious when faced with this. The Information Analyst/Junior Programmer role was compared to a typist and the enlightened panel who determined this obviously felt it was a good match.The best story I heard was where two identical jobs were assessed. One came out a scale higher then expected, the other a scale lower!! Just to add insult to injury, when this was pointed out, they were both shuffled onto the scale they originally expected, so rather than just the one that was downgraded leaving, they will both leave.Who says government money is wasted  steve-----------Oh, so they have internet on computers now! |
