"and now you even know where slovenia is"of course he doesn't - the definitions failed to describe it relative to the Alamo, or any other Great Landmark!I'm local and I'm trying to remember where the "Balkan Peninsula" is; I'm pretty OK with where Austria is, but I'm struggling with how Hungary borders it, and "Croatia" is one of those new-fangled country names that we didn't have when I did Geography - along with Herzegovina, isn't it? Or am I thinking of Slovakia?"and on the west by Italy and the Adriatic Sea"The Adriatic Sea is near Italy? Well I never! you learn something every day. I thought it must be one of those Iron Curtain thingies - well over to the East.Stumped!Kristen |

See? Its not on the Adriatic at all, its on the "Gulf of Venice" - which sounds altogether more posh!Mind you, the coast is very short isn't it, I didn't realise that - MSN made it sound like Slovenia was almost an island!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenia altogether more helpful, as always!Kristen |
