HiWe had a system crash (power failure) last night & unfortunately one of our servers didnt have UPS on it.The server wont start now - corrupt system file. I am trying to get the system back using the recovery console & have been following Microsofts instructions on restoring the config files from the repair directories as found in the knowledge base.My problem is I am getting an Access Denied error when trying to copy any files (in systemroot). I can however create and delete directories and rename files but cant copy anything, even from removeable media. The "SET" option is also unavailable as it hadnt been enabled in the policy but i dont think that has got anything to do with itI have run chkdsk & fixmbr and the problem is still the sameHas anyone come across this before and managed to resolve this?Couldnt find anything of use on MS knowledge base or Google. There are loads of URL's refering to Access Denied but their problem is outside systemrootWould creating an ASR disk from a similar server be an option or am I asking for trouble on that idea?I have thought about installing W2K3 on a seperate partition and trying to fix it that way?Anybody got any ideas/thoughtsCheersAndy |
