I'm enjoying having access to my retired laptop through a wireless network using Remote Desktop.

Being both lazy and energy conscious, I want to be able to access the laptop anytime using Remote Desktop and find it ready to use.

I've set the monitor and disk to power down after 10 minutes. No problem there. But allowing the laptop to "Standby" or "Hibernate" after 10 minutes is a show stopper. I can't "wake up" the laptop using Remote Desktop. I've got to hit a few keys or the power switch to get it going.

Anyone know a way to wake up a wireless sleeping computer using remote desktop or is my PCMCIA Wireless card the problem here?

I can't decide whether you'd be better off with a trigger or an extended stored procdure ;-)

You could buy a remote bootable power supply. :)
