I worked with informix for a couple of months a few years back.From what I can remember (which isn't much) you couldn't use JOIN, all the tables in the query had to be introduced in the from clause and joined in the where clause, if you wanted to use an outer join it had to be introduced as from table_a outer(or something like that) - therefore what us sql server people know as a left outer join is the only outer join available, but I am not even close to being able to even understand what a informix guru is - so don't take my word for it.There are however many people at our shop with very strong informix skills and yes - they still are using it.Maybe I should introduce them to this forum as some of their upcoming projects are gonna be on sql server.Duane. |
