We installed Windows Server 2003 EE on the IBM x445 Server with ServerGuide 7.2.We want to use the ServeRaid controller 6M that we have and not the integrated LSI controllers.During startup the server always check for drive on the LSI controller but this is ok.The strange thing is that when the installation with ServerGuide is finished we see under Disk Management 2 strange disks, disk 0 and disk 1 of 16MB each.Is this correct or there is a way to delete these 2 disks?Where can I found informations on this subject? Please advise.Kind regards.Franco |

Solved. The problem was with fibre channel and in particular with IBM FastT700 Storage Manager. When there are more than one host, and that is our situation, you have to move the default virtual device (access) from the top of storage subsystem and place it at a low level where you have created a second host group.Otherwise every hosts try to access the SAN and that is why we have these 2 disks created.Another problem is that you will end up in many event ID 51.CheersFranco |
