Hi there,

when you search for the history of SQL, you'll find that SEQUEL/2 had to be renamed 'due to legal reasons' to SQL.

It took some time to figure out what this 'legal reasons' were. But as this is only mentioned in one single source, I would be happy, if anyone can confirm that SEQUEL/2 had to be renamed because Hawker Siddeley Aircraft Company claimed the trademark SEQUEL for themselves

Cheers,
Frank

Frank,

I can confirm that SEQUEL/2 had to be renamed because Hawker
Siddeley Aircraft Company claimed the trademark SEQUEL for themselves.

Be happy! Don't worry.

????

I thought, you mention the SRC Technical Note 1997 – 018. The 1995 SQL Reunion: People, Projects, and Politics.

Can you share a link?

Why to put it as 'to fool'? Not at all. :) I believe in these things.
Then, what kind of the confirmation you'll find pretty sufficient?
Obviously any possible confirmation will leave you a bit doubting.
In some metaphysical sense I mean. And note: even in maths the
notion of Proof is fuzzy. More precisely mathematicians don't know
what is the Proof. This thing is owned by the Realm of Psychology.

In the beginning, there was nothing.
And God said: "Let there be light!"
And there was still nothing, but you could see it.

Now being serious, you can't help me with this ?

Frank

Moreover, Frank.
The notion of Causality is illusive in its essence.
See some works by Wolfgang Pauli. He was a genius.
