Are there any forum contributors, actively using English Query (MS NL Query Interface) to a production, live level.

MS support forum for this is 90% NOT English Query (non-existent moderation)

Thanks.

Popular then, this English Query. Maybe we're the only ones in the World using it in anger? Mind you, doesn't surprise us - it can be quite good actually, until you get down to the deeper nitty gritty and find some documented features are just that - documented.

Any comments, views, experience, negative or positive welcomed - that seems like an awful lot of work for Microsoft when they've just left it hanging out to dry air.

I personally have not used it, and every time I look into it I realize why I'm not using it...it's just not worth the effort. If anything, it will be much more work than simply teaching people how to write queries in SQL. "Yeah, but I have to support people who can't speak English correctly, they definitely can't write SQL"? So what? You're just gonna have to support more of them if you go with English Query, and all you'll end up doing is fixing or explaining why their English queries aren't working the way they want.

One thing I've learned is that I'd rather have people give me their work to do, rather than have me help them do their work. The subtle difference in wording is the key: I'd do THEIR work the way I see fit, instead of THEM telling ME how to do it. Make their ignorance and laziness work for you, for a change!

Sorry for the rant, but this is not the first (or last) time MS has put out a product that simply bombed, and they'd prefer to forget it.
