John writes "I installed SQL on my computer. Now ther is a problem with connection to server(during installation server was not found). I am using MS Personal Web Server, Hosts.sam is diabled, I renamed it. I think my local network is using: Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter and NDISWAN > Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter. Each time I tried to register SQL server I get same message: Error 340, General Error. Then using ODBC Data Source Administrator, System DSN (Microsoft SQL Server DSN Configuration), the end of process is as below.
Connection falied: SQLState: '01000' SQL Server Error: '10061' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]ConnectionOpen(connect()), Connection falied: SQLState: '08001' SQL Server Error: '11' [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]General network error. Check your network documentation.
If you have an idea how to successfully register SQL Server, I will greatly appreciate you suggestions.
