Hello,We log ship. We also do a database backup nightly.If we do a transaction log backup after the nightly backup will this break log shipping?Thanksdjj |

If you perform any transaction log backups outside of the log shipping process - that will break log shipping. Why do you think you need to perform this additional log backup? What issue are you trying to address? |

What is happening is the log files are getting big. We had one get to half the server storage size and that was just one of several databases stored there.Point in time recovery is not as important. If we loose the fifteen minute since the last log shipping copy we will be okay.I guess you would call it disaster reocvery but we would use it to have the database back in buisness quickly.djj |
