I am installing SQL Server Express 2008 R2 with advanced services. I select NT Authority/System for all accounts and I am currently selecting data directories. Is it safe to change the default location of C: to a network drive? The network drive gets a backup every night and there is more room. If i left it on the C drive i would have to create a more extensive backup plan and worry about space. Thank you. |

SQL Server will not allow you to install and put the databases on a network drive. The drives must be local drives on the server. |
