Hi,

Where does the built-in functions reside in SQL server?
For example, I have searched the function SERVERPROPERTY, but i dont found this anywhere in any databae.

I just want to know from where and how this function work?

Thanks,

built-in means:
Constructed as part of a larger unit; not detachable

So you can't find them in a database.

No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die.

This Means, some of the functions we can only use them and can't be viewed in object explorer?

Correct. All functions are documented in SQL Server Books Online: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms174318.aspx
