| Hi,i have setup SQL Server 2008 mirroring without witness server, just want to know what will happens and what steps need to take when principal server goes offline. My senario:my application is connected to principal server, database has 100 record and is mirror. my principal server goes off and my application shift to mirror server and now mirror server become active now i have started inserting new record for exp insert 10 records.now my principal server gets back and become active which has 100 record.how i can bring newly added record in principal server and is there any automatic procedure to this situation. please guide me.thanks. |

| What mode is it running in ? And the principal that had gone down should it take the role of a mirror or should it become principal after it comes up again ?After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says W T F .... |

| Hi,basically i want to test my DR site. my mirroring is set on High performance. i have forcefully shutdown my principal server now my application shift to mirror server. Application connect to mirror server which is now live, Now i have add some record through application. Now i have restart/On my principal server and application shift to principal server. i just what to know what will happen in that case , will newly added record available on primary server automatically or do i have to do some manual process so please guide me.thx |

| If you choose to make the initially lost principal server as the principal server you are bound to loose all the transaction that were done on the mirror server which had taken the role of the principal server when the original principal had gone down.So the best practice is to continue having the lost principal server as the mirror server though your original principal server comes online.After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says W T F .... |

| is there anyway to bring all traction / update done at mirror server which taken role of principal server. after we bring initial/original principal server live and make it principal role.thx. |
