HI All.

Wasn't sure if this is the right place, but worth a try. We are having an issue with SQL 2008 R2 and Altiris.

When we install and set up the instance for altiris we can connect to both localhost\altiris and <servername>\altiris.

once we install Altiris we are still able to connect to localhost\altiris. but we are unable to connect to <servername>\altiris.

We are logging on with Current Logged on creds domain\<user>.

We have enabled TCP\IP and named pipes, but still getting an error saying "activley refusing connection"

This is running on Server '08 R2.

Regards
Keiran.

If you can connect to both using the SQL client tools, then this is a problem with Altiris, so you'll need to contact the vendor.

Have you installed Altiris to the same server?

Are you trying to connect using SQL tools?

Can you ping using <servername>?

Symantec recommend that you pre create the Symantec_CMDB database with the size you envisage it growing to so the allocated space is contiguous. Try this, make sure you can connect using localhost and <servername> then install Altiris.
