Any change for limiting the length of people Signatures? Some of the lengths of the Signatures seem rather egregious in their length.

Other forums' software which I visit allows me to turn off signatures (and Avatars) - which I always do. The extra wibble makes it harder for me to see wood-for-the-trees.

I still hold to the old UseNet etiquette rules. No more than 4 lines for a sig (though my one at SSC might be 5 now). Don't need an essay attached to each and every post.

I like Gsquared's signature from Sqlservercentral.com..Very funny...

...GSquared, RSVP, OODA, MAP, NMVP, FAQ, SAT, SQL, DNA, RNA, UOI, IOU, AM, PM, AD, BC, BCE, USA, UN, CF, ROFL, LOL, ETC

You can see his profile here

It's like that because of a poster that we nicknamed 'alphabet soup'. Sig full of certifications, but little apparent knowledge of SQL or Oracle

Not sure what do this certifications are all about

GSquared, RSVP, OODA, MAP, NMVP, FAQ, SAT, SQL, DNA, RNA, UOI, IOU, AM, PM, AD, BC, BCE, USA, UN, CF, ROFL, LOL, ETC

DNA,RNA(I studied that in my Biology class)..lol

Also I dont think that Gsquared has "little" knowledge on SQL..

None of those are SQL certifications, they're all jokes. As I said, he created that sig because of a poster that we nicknamed 'Alphabet soup' who had a list of certs in his sig and little to no apparent knowledge.

RSVP: répondez s'il vous plaît (reply please)
OODA: observe, orient, decide, and act
MAP could stand for a few hundred things, not sure which he's using
NMVP I suspect stands for Not most valuable professional
FAQ: Frequently asked questions
SAT I believe is a standardised school test in the USA
DNA and RNA are indeed biology
UOI I'm not sure (could be the reverse of IOU)
IOU: I owe you
AM and PM are time
AD, BC and BCE are divisions of the calendar
USA I hope doesn't need translation
UN: Probably united nations
CF could stand for Confer, but not sure here
ROFL: Rolling on the floor laughing
LOL: Laughing out Loud
ETC: Etcetera.
