I have an operational DB , and when creating a backup , .bak file size is 8GB . later , I restore the backup to a different DB , and then backup the new one. Now, .bak file is 1.5GB I am backing up just the DB , without its TLog DB. A --> backup --> A.bak(8GB) --> Restore --> B --> backup --> B.bak (1.5GB) Do u know the reason for it ? Does it hide any performance issue ? will I gain something from restoring the backup on the original one ? Appreciate your help |

Maybe your 8GB backup included a huge number of transactions? |
