I run sp_lock SessionID on a select statement. sp_lock returns that there are several (5) locks which are identical - what does it mean? These are TAB IS locks (intent shared) on the same table. I can't see why there would be more than 1 identical lock - is there some other way of seeing more detail that might show how these are different in some way?

If the query is being processed on multiple threads, then more than one thread could have the same status.
