I know this can be a sensitive topic in some forums so I hope I'm not breaking any rules.I'm wondering what the best SQL Server monitoring software is.I'm currently using ignite8 (confio) and it seems good to me but I haven't used anything else so I don't know how it compares.I know the hard core DBAs probably just use a library of their own management queries but for those of us who aren't true DBAs but have inherited that as part of our responsibilities these tools seem beneficial. |

I'd say $5000 max. We only have one SQL Server with two instances running on it. |

Then why would you want to waste 5000$.I would go for third party if I have more than 5 servers.PBUHEdited 1500$ to 5000$ |

For one server with 2 instances you'd be better off looking at Powershell to automate some checks etc.----------------------------Junior DBA learning the ropes |
