| I'm trying to upgrade a sql2k8 cluster to sql2k8 R2. (OS is W2k8 Ent.)I followed the instructions in this Microsoft article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191295.aspx.I applied the upgrade on the passive node, now, when I attempt to fail-over to this node I get an error. The action 'Move to node NodeName' did not complete. An error occurred moving the clustered service or application 'SQLService'. The operation failed because either the specified cluster node is not the owner of the group or the node is not a possible owner of the group.I checked the failover cluster manager & SQL has both servers listed as preferred owners.Any suggestions? |

you should also check not only the cluster but also the sql server resources for possible owners not just preferred owners--------------------keeping it simple... |
