In an environment, we have 4 databases that contain data which is used throughout an organization. Each database has data that is unique to the database. No two databases contain the same data subjects – the data in one database does not overlap the data in any other database. Each of these databases has grown organically over a 10 – 15 year history. No documentation exists on the purpose of any object within any database. However, we have Crystal Reports, Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, queries, and many other core processes that use the data in these 4 databases. You are tasked with combining all 4 databases into a single database while at the same time eliminating any objects that are no longer used. Please describe the process that you would go through to accomplish your objectives.
Thanks in advance..
