I was unable to install SSMSE (SQL Server Management Studio 2008 Express). The installation stopped at the step “Features Selection”. There are two Shared Features for selection: Management Tools – Basic; and SQL Client Connectivity SDK. The check boxes should be blank. However both check boxes were checked and greyed. No matter how I select the option it showed error message “To continue one or more features must be selected”.I assume that somehow the management had been installed in my computer before. I might have to remove some program before install SSMSE.I installed MS SQL Server 2008 Express in 2010. In my notebook. The path for the icon MS SQL Server 2008 Express is actually ssms.exe (not sqlservr.exe), that is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE.The size and date is1,298,456 2008/07/10I checked programs in Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. On 2/7/2010 the following programs are installed on 02/07/2011Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (1.25 GB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Browser (7.93 MB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client (2.80 MB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Policies (879 KB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Compact 3.5 SP1 English (2.59 MB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Compact 3.5 SP1 Query Tools English (4.69 MB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 VSS Writer (1.80 MB)The following 2 programs were added On 2/21/2010Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects (5.42 MB)Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Compact 3.5 SP1 design Tools English (8.63 MB)I am wondering if I have to uninstall “Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects (5.42MB)” in order to install SSMSE. Any your help will be highly appreciated. |
