I've been compiling some stats on the top 20 posters (first page people) and found something interesting:
name posts	actual	diff
tkizer 31180 30954 226
visakh16 28745 28645 100
Peso 27980 27381 599
madhivanan 21494 20981 513
Kristen 20740 20660 80
khtan 14094 13950 144

robvolk 13117 13099 18
nr 12542 12537 5
spirit1 11707 11579 128
jsmith8858 7402 7299 103
rmiao 7266 7248 18
sodeep 6750 6666 84
Michael Valentine Jones 6595 6536 59
webfred 6557 6520 37
harsh_athalye 5484 5438 46

TG 4797 4780 17
derrickleggett 4184 4144 40
graz 4081 4042 39
I know Snitz doesn't change the post count if you delete something, but I can't believe Peso deleted almost 600 posts!

So far no one's standing would change with the real counts, unless we fix MVJ's and not webfred's. Kristen and madhivanan would close their gap by half though.

He's insinuating (sarcastically of course) that we post false topics/replies and then delete them. A delete doesn't take away a post from your count.

I had to delete a bunch of replies in one of my topics a few years ago for providing too much information, but that would only have been like 10 posts maybe. I do delete my posts sometimes when I've been sniped, although with how fast I type, sniping doesn't happen too often.

Can you categorize the post counts between site related and non site related post counts?

I can, probably won't be today though. Makes more sense to categorize them for each forum. I have a nice pivot table and graph for each person by month, but it doesn't let me host Excel files on SQLTeam.

I have deleted some answers, mainly because of duplicates answers. Sometimes my answer was posted 2 times or maybe even 3 times.

Great subject line.. how can anyone resist reading it wondering what kind of fraud has been perpetuated on the unsuspecting SQLTeam readers.

I must admit that for a fraction of a second, images of Bernie Madoff and Allen Stanford flashed through my mind as I was opening the posting.

My first thought was "what toolshed is posting an eye grabbing, misleading topic to get replies and post counts?".
Then i saw it was Rob.

Yea, lets leave this answer nice and ambiguous.

I'm surprised that a ~4 year absence didn't drop me lower than the second page... oh well.

I took a long stroll down winform lane.

Still doing that, but I finally get to work in something other than 2000.

Glad to see (read) many of the same faces (usernames)

Nah, I still get to do SQL, but up until 4 weeks ago, I was still using 2000.

I just changed jobs, so now I get to play with all the 'new' stuff in 2005 and 2008.

As for twitter... for an IT person, I tend to avoid the techy stuff for some reason. I did finally succomb to facebook, but twitter, fax machines, and smart phones I am still holding out on. Maybe I'll make it there one of these days.

The local district attorney's office here is using SQL Server 7.0 with no plans of upgrading.

We just migrated four SQL 7.0 Servers on Windows NT 4.0 to virtual machines running SQL 7.0 on Windows NT 4.0. At least it got us off the ancient hardware.
