Hello, I've found some internet posts about this issue, and it seems to inspire much fulmination from those who run into it. My turn. I installed a 2008 R2 trial version some time ago, which unfortunately expired. So I received the "trial time is past" message when I try to run the app, which makes sense. I read that installing the Developer Edition can get past this issue, so I purchased it, it arrived yesterday (also 2008 R2 edition), I sat through the install and received the "trial period" past message yet again.I also can't seem to completely uninstall the trial version. It will get only so far before popping up an error message. I also attempted some registry cleaning and key value adjusting with no effect.Any advice? Thank you!Ed Womackwww.getmilked.com |

I followed the instructions on this page:http://sqlblog.com/blogs/aaron_bertrand/archive/2010/10/25/fun-with-software-uninstalling-sql-server-2008-r2-evaluation-edition.aspx...and it looks like my SQL SSMS is opening again! Lesson: if you install the SQL Server evaluation version, uninstall it or upgrade before it expires... thankfully that page existed...Ed Womackwww.getmilked.com |
