I thought Califonioans were all nutcases, but with this proposal (if it passes), they might just be the most sensible government in the US..

Regardless of your opinion on the legalization of pot, the tax argument is specious. Hey, lets just legalize all crime and tax it! We could eliminate prisons and the national debt all at once, right?

Any argument that says the state will collect more taxes is not a big selling point in today’s political climate.

Better arguments would be:
You don’t have to pay for arresting, trying, and jailing users.
Your money won’t be going to support violent criminal cartels.
You can grow it yourself or buy it for a tiny fraction of what you are paying now, and you don’t have to worry about being murdered or robbed by the criminal you’re buying it from.
