Does anyone use Oracle on the Oracle VM platform? If so have you had any issues with it?

I haven't been involved but there have been alledgedly some major issues with it here. We have a relatively new setup that completely fell over after a couple of months. The story I heard (and it's nothing more than hearsay so may have no basis in truth) was that the Oracle people (i don't know if they were actually from Oracle or from some support organisation) who came to resolve it were so useless they were sent away after a fairly short period.

My understanding is that you are not supposed to use Oracle on any VM other than their own but that people do (successfully) ignore this.

Any thoughts?

steve

Hee hee, thankfully I am far enough away from this one to be barely affected but one of my team members is directly affected. Having said that, it does appear that changing jobs wouldn't make a difference as it appears to be the underlying architecture that is the issue.
