Author  Topic  akarra Starting Member 15 Posts Posted - 2010-03-26 : 16:57:26 Hi I installed sql server 2005 and again uninstalled after applying the SP3 latest patch becuase of patch installation failure. some how i think could not properly uninstall and finally able to clear every thing manually. But myproblem is when iam trying to reinstall the setup for sql server vss writer is failed and when tried to install individually from the tools\setup\sqlwriter.msi. Iam encountering the installation vss writer is failed because a higher version already exists. I checked in add/remove programs the another VSS writer running is for Sql server 2008, which I dont want to touch. I want my sql server 2008 should be up and running but also want the sql server 2005 installation. can any body please advice. Also the data services set up also failed. Please advice what can I do to make my installation happen.
