Hi,

I'm planning to create a new database for the new project. Before creating, I should know what are the things that should i take into account for optimize db creation. I'm planning to have .mdf, .ndf and a log file. what are the other factors that should i consider before creating the new db.

Questions arises from my mind are intial size, auto grow, filegroup (advsiable to have two diff file groups, one for primary and other for secondary files)

Thanks in advance.

Depends on How your database is going to grow? Transactions...

I would preset Initial Size of Data Files and Log Files to reduce VLFs. Also Keep Data Files and Log File in Different drives.

Is it better to have primary and secondary in different filegroups?
