Yup ... as I thought ... there was a car in the ditch before I'd gone a couple of miles.None of the roads locally gritted / salted ...UK mostly "shut down", very few cars on the road, only saw a couple of gritting lorries on other carriageway in 120 miles of motoring ...But wasn't cold enough to make the snow a nuisance, so only added 10% to journey time |

I'd just like to point out that its mostly the South of England that grinds to a halt when they see a snowflake.Us 'ard people from oop Norf just get on with it -----------Deja Moo - The feeling you've heard the same bull before. |

The Wash DC area has just broken an all time record set back in 1899 for must snow in a season. I'm about 25 miles north-west of the city. My front yard is waist deep. The area was basically shut down on Wednesday because of white out conditions - high winds and heavy snow. We had two storms within 5 days totaling about 40 inches. I've done more shoveling this week than I have in long time. And the piles I have to throw snow to are now like 15 feet high. My arms and back have had it. I hear we have some more coming on Monday :(Be One with the OptimizerTG |

Actually all this snow is a total blast. Commuting and house maintenance is a pain but I must admit that I was doing my share of diving gainer snow angels off my porch Be One with the OptimizerTG |
