Hello Experts,

Today while searching the specs on the web about Transaction logs I'm totally confused with it.

What i found on the web is " Transaction log backup will not truncate the inactive portion of the log when the DB is configured to mirroring " Is this true . Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If so then how the T- log will be controlled from growing.

Our production server has both replication and mirroring for the same DB's and we do not face any issues with the T- log growing.

We have T- log backup's for every 15 mins and we do not face any issues. But as per my earlier statement "if mirroring is configured log back up will not truncate the inactive portion of the log " I'm curious to know how the log file is controlled in the DB when it is used in mirroring.

Log backup's will truncate the inactive portion of the log even though the DB is used for replication as well as log shipping. Kindly correct me if i'm wrong.

Eagerly waiting for your responses.

Regards,
Thaniparthi.

Yes that quote is true. So ensure that mirroring and/or replication are working properly so that this portion of the log doesn't interfere with your tlog backups.
