Hello my name is leo and im in a lot of trouble :PIve visited around 10 websites that gave me guidelines to installing sql server 2k8 express edition. I read half that amount regarding requirements and new editions. I'm using windows 7 ultimate. Here's what I arrived at so far so please tell me if im wrong or not1- .net framework 3.5.1 is available by default in my pc because im using windows 7 ultimate.2- power shell 1.0 is also available by default3- windows installer 5 is available in windows 7 ultimate.4- as far as i can tell these are the requirements that i needed5- i installed sql server 2k8 express edition 64bit6- i installed sql server 2k8 express edition sp1 64bit7- i installed sql server 2k8 management studio 64 bit8- i checked windows update in case there were anyi did all this after hours of reading. the sad part is that i cant find sqlbrowser.exe! when i open the studio i see SQL BROWING SERVICES and RUNNING as its status. So someone plz tell me EXACTLY what i'm supposed to do and what i'm supposed to run and where im to get it from. Plz. Because im going to keep reading my MS SQL SERVER 2K8 EXPRESS FOR DUMMIES book and try to implement some stuff. If it doesnt work ill have to restart and get in my XP OS and use 2k5 edition instead. Plz.thanx! So as I mentioned earlier Im using 2008. Should i switch to 2005 because i want my mobile application to access that online database and add records to it and download records from it. Googling for a while showed that theres only 2005 out there mobile. not 2008 although i did read a line in some topic saying that 2008 supports it all. i dont no. you tell me.thanx again.EDIT!! DELETED THE SECOND Q CUZ I FOUND THE FAQ |
