I used to develop with ASP and PHP but am interested in ASP.Net,can someone recommend a cheap tool. can not afford visual studio.

Don't know if Netbeans or Eclipse support ASP.Net, but their community pages will have more info.

There's always Notepad. :) Best way to learn the object models.

I also left Classic ASP, using dreamweaver to .net

visual web developer is free, and can be easily integrated to MSSQL express edition.

Robvolk, visual c# is for windows clients ( winforms ) although its great for building classes and dll
