I got a script from a developer with an update statement. The script had errors as there was primary key violation but the next thing i hear from the developer is the table got locked. When i looked at the Activity monitor, everything seemed fine. I'm not really sure how should i troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks,
Sunny

Typically this is a bad sign.

This is not necessarily a script error, nor even an error, simply an issue with the data being updated. However, since it's the primary key being violated, it probably is a script error.

The developer doesn't know what they're talking about.

You'll need to post the structure of the table(s) involved and the script that's doing the update.
