I notce that we get a lot of people who create an account ask a question and then never return. If someone has time and is equally curious, what percentage of users on SQLteam have less than 10 posts?

I'd guess 90.9%

Based on this from the forum home page, over a third of the people that register never make any posts:
"31797 of 49898 Members have made 630803 posts in 41 forums"

select PCT_With_No_Post = 100*((49898-31797)/49898.)

Results:
PCT_With_No_Post
----------------------
36.276000

Also, over one third of the posts come from just the top 20 posters.
select PCT_from_top_20_Posters = 100*(213497/630803.)

PCT_from_top_20_Posters
-----------------------
33.8452700

I don't understand why you'd register but never post. You can still read the site fine without registering.

What about 10 posts or less?

select 227 * 100.0 / 2495 = 9.098196

That would be those people of more than 10 posts... 9.1%
And the people with 10 posts or less must be the remaining 90.9%, right?

OH!

I've never even noticed that statistics section. I was sitting here scratching my head wondering what the hell page 227 of 2495 meant. I came very close to searching in BOL. :)

That's a pretty good guess, Peso.

SEO spammers will often create accounts and never post, just so they can put links to junk on their profile pages.

I know I've run across some forum from a google search, and the forum looked interesting enough that I went ahead and registered but never re-visited the site again.
