Would you be able to pass the database name to a report and based on the database name, this would be used to show that particular tables from that database passed?

you can do that with help of dynamic query but why do it this way?why is database dynamic in your case?

We have various product groups, each group is housed in a different Database. Some customers sell more than one product group. So for their reports, they could tell the Report which database to select from.

are you asking about database engine as such or report server?
