Good morning all.I have a question on running Report Manager using Internet Explorer on a Vista machine. It is SQL Server 2005.I have gone through the gut wrenching pain of actually successfully getting SSRS/Report Manager installed on my Vista machine(home pc), and up and running. I am doing self study/training.I bring up the report manager site, but have to run IE "as admin", then go to http://localhost/Reports, which brings up the Report Manager with the "site settings" link and the Report Builder button.I have noticed the following inconsistencies. My home pc is named: charlie-PC.I bring up report manager "as admin", and instead of localhost, I type http://charlie-PC/Reports, report manager comes up, but "site settings" and Report Builder button are not on the page.If I run IE without "as admin", and go to either http://localhost/Reports or http://charlie-PC/Reports, Report Manager comes up without "site settings" and without the Report Builder button. To throw another variable into the mix, the "work offline" also needs to be "unchecked", in order to get it to work the way I want, which is to have everything available, ie: site settings and Report Builder button showing on the page.Just wondering if anyone can provide any sort of explanation. Thanks for reading my post.Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. |

I am bumping this question. I cannot believe not a single person out there has run into this sort of situation. I know that Vista vs SQL 2005 Reporting Services is everyone's "favorite" combination of software and OS...LOLTalk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish. |
