hi therei setup high availability mirroring ,with 3 servers ,my principal server is in center place ,and also web server use it ,my wittness and mirroring server are far at other place ,they have permenent connection that supposed to not break forever ,the mirroring works well ,automatic failover happens and role of principal at center switch to mirroring and role of mirroring on far location changes to principal , but we have on the situition that we need after the connection between partner servers applied again ,after syncronizing the server on center again take principal role ,and the far place server again back to mirroring role ,the manual failover works fine ,and i can do this by manualy failover and make central server to principal ,but as we need this happens automatically ,is any idea i mean when the connection between principal server A and mirroring server B disconnects ,and server B took principal role ,after connection established again ,server A again be principal and server B again be mirroring ,is any way that servers have permanent role ,and temprorly they change their roles just during disconnected position.i thought may i use the application that after connection established ,again virtually dc connection to other server ,then witness changes the role of servers to first roleThank younova |

You could set up a SQL Agent job to monitor the state of the mirror (sys.database_mirroring, I think), and if you see the mirror server get synchronized, fail back to the preferred primary server. |
