I have a OLEDB source -> Flat File destination.

I have selected 10 columns out of 15 columns(in the table) that I need in the flat file.

The question is, If I have to add a new column to the table itself, should i change my package to specifically "uncheck" the new column I have added to prevent it from coming in the Flat File destination.

Or I dont have to do anything? Will it cause any errors/warnings during execution?

if you're adding a new column to the table, the column wont be added to package by default. so unless you want it to be included in flat file, you dont need to edit package. metadata of ssis wont change dynamically based on changes in source table structure. however if you're dropping an existing column, you need to edit package also to refresh metadata else it will complain of non existent column.
