One of the odd things about the Big Dig in Boston (#8 overall. Yay?) was that it moved the bottle necks from the center of Boston to the roads outside. Progress of a sort. |

Same thing here (Chicago, #6) They tried to fix what is called the "Hillside Strangler". Moved all the congestion to outside lanes but around three miles ahead, in either direction of the "fix", all these folks have to merge into the traffic that's been cruising at 60+ mph. Break lights for miles, and presumably more accidents than before. That's progress for you!Terry-- Procrastinate now! |
